He was born in 1965 in Crete, Greece. Since 1983 he has been studying ceramics and dealing with clay and its multitude of techniques. From 1988 he created his own workshop in Heraklion, Crete, where he lives and works until today.
For his sculptures, he uses various high-temperature clays, as well as pseudo-porcelains and porcelains. The clays are colored with metal oxides and stains and with these basic materials he gives shape to his ideas and feelings, the final decoration is achieved using glass and bronze.
The pieces are then fired at temperatures of 1065 – 1280 C for up to 24 hours to give permanent colors that do not fade. His works are manufactured only in Crete by Manolis with the help of his wife.

Each piece comes with a ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ and a card with artist information.
Many of the pieces bear a “signature”, while others have the “Virus Ceramicus” logo stamped on them.
